Honey Glazed Heritage Cooked Ham

For a juicy, flavorful ham with a caramelized glaze, follow these steps:

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole or half Fresh ham (6-8 lbs)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp ground cloves (or whole cloves for scoring)
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice or apple cider
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prep & Season: Preheat oven to 325°F. Score ham in a diamond pattern and rub with brown sugar, mustard, cloves, and black pepper.
  2. Bake: Place ham in a roasting pan, add pineapple juice, cover with foil, and bake for 15-20 minutes per pound (about 2-3 hours).
  3. Glaze: Mix honey and melted butter, brush over ham, and bake uncovered at 400°F for another 20-30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes.
  4. Rest & Serve: Let rest 15 minutes, then slice and enjoy!

Perfect with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or warm dinner rolls.
