Churrasco steak is a popular Latin American dish known for its bold flavors and tender texture. This simple yet flavorful recipe uses a garlicky marinade to enhance the natural taste of the steak, then it's grilled to perfection.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs flank or skirt steak

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar or lime juice

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh chopped parsley or chimichurri sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Steak

    1. In a bowl, combine garlic, olive oil, vinegar or lime juice, cumin, paprika, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper.

    2. Place the steak in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, coating it evenly.

    3. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor.

  2. Grill the Steak

    1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to high heat.

    2. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry slightly.

    3. Grill for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your preferred doneness.

  3. Rest and Slice

    1. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5–10 minutes.

    2. Slice thinly against the grain.

  4. Serve

    1. Serve with chimichurri sauce, rice, grilled vegetables, or inside tacos.

Churrasco steak is perfect for backyard cookouts or weeknight meals. Its bold, garlicky flavor and juicy tenderness will keep you coming back for more!
