Easy Crockpot Carnitas Recipe

Easy Crockpot Carnitas
Slow-cooked pulled pork that’s juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. Perfect for tacos, bowls, or burritos.

Ingredients:
3–4 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 orange, juiced
1 lime, juiced
1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

Step 1
Cut the pork into large chunks and season with salt, pepper, cumin, and oregano.

Step 2
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear the pork pieces on all sides until browned.

Step 3
Place the pork, onion, garlic, orange juice, lime juice, and chicken broth in the Crockpot.

Step 4
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until the pork is very tender and easy to shred.

Step 5
Shred the pork using two forks and return it to the Crockpot to soak in the juices.

Step 6 (Optional but recommended)
Spread shredded pork on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 5–8 minutes until crispy on the edges.
