BBQ Sauce Recipe
Jan 05, 2023
Growing up on the small farm, Sunday dinners were always a special occasion. My grandmother was in charge of the cooking, and she always made sure to prepare a feast for the whole family. One of my favorite dishes was her homemade BBQ sauce, which she would slather over a tray of ribs or pork chops.
I can still remember the smell of the sauce simmering on the stove, a mixture of ketchup, vinegar, and all of the other secret ingredients that went into it. My siblings and I would stand on our tippy-toes, trying to sneak a taste as my grandmother stirred the pot.
But the best part was when we sat down to eat. The table was always crowded, with cousins and aunts and uncles all gathered around to share in the feast. And as we dug into the tender, juicy pork, slathered in my grandmother's delicious BBQ sauce, I couldn't help but feel grateful to be a part of such a loving, close-knit family.
Those Sunday dinners on the farm will always be some of my fondest memories, and I will always treasure the time I got to spend with my grandmother, learning her secrets for making the best BBQ sauce around.

Here is a recipe for a delicious BBQ sauce that would pair well with pasture pork:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool before using.
This BBQ sauce is tangy and slightly sweet, with a depth of flavor from the molasses and Worcestershire sauce. It pairs well with pasture pork and would be a great addition to ribs, chops, or any other cuts of meat. Enjoy!
